The climate of Pisa: when to go to Pisa

Questo articolo è disponibile anche in: Français Deutsch Español Italiano

Pisa is located a few kilometers from the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, its location near the sea makes the climate of the city temperate Mediterranean. The proximity to the sea has beneficial effects on the climate of the city, in fact mitigates the heat during the summer months and makes milder winters than the inland locations of Tuscany. The sea climate effects are seen especially in summer temperatures, Pisa has in fact average maximum summer temperatures which are two degrees lower than inland locations such as Florence.

TEMPERATURES

The hottest months are July and August, which recorded average maximum temperatures slightly higher than 29 ° C. Again in July and August the average minimum temperatures are scoring values around 17 ° C. In winter the lowest temperatures are reached in January with average maximum temperatures of 11.4 ° C and average minimum temperatures of 2.2 ° C. Pisa has an annual average of 35 hot days – days when the average maximum temperature exceeds 30 ° C – as many as 29 of these days are concentrated in the months of July and August. The frost days – days in which the average minimum temperature is below 0 ° C – are on average 34 in a year, of which 26 are distributed between December, January and February.
